Garth Brooks fell in love with Trisha Yearwood when he was still married to his former wife. A new love made the singer give up everything just to be with his soulmate, Trisha.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were both legally married to other people when they met and fell in love. They could ignore their feelings to each other and keep living with their spouses, but both Garth and Trisha made another decision.
Garth Brooks and Sandy Mahl were married for 15 years; they have 3 daughters together. But it didn’t stop the singer from split. Brooks and Yearwood filed for divorce to build a new family, just of the two of them.
The singer never commented on the moment when he realized that Trisha was his true and only love. But the new documentary ‘The Road I’m On’ reveals what Garth felt at the moment he saw Trisha.
Garth explained:
I had been married 13 months when I met her… I felt like I just met my wife, which is weird, right?
The singer confessed he never regretted his decision to stay with Trisha:
I have to believe that things happen when they happen… I wouldn’t change anything in fear of changing where I’m at right now.
As for Trisha Yearwood, she also didn’t hide the fact that she fell in love with Garth at first sight.
She told Parade:
It was probably the minute I met him, even though I didn’t know it at the time. I just think we’re meant to be.
